The majestic sigiriya

Sigiriya is located in the Matale District of the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is one of the most important historical and cultural heritage sites in our country. Sigiriya was built in the 5th century AD by King Kashyapa. He built a royal palace on the top of the rock. The most famous feature of Sigiriya is the Sigiriya frescoes. These paintings show the great artistic skills of ancient Sri Lanka. The Mirror Wall is another special attraction of Sigiriya. The Lion Gate is also an important part of this ancient site. Sigiriya is a symbol of Sri Lanka’s pride and cultural heritage. It is our responsibility to protect and preserve Sigiriya for future generations.
